“Around our house, we call it the ‘rice.’  It’s something my husband says we can’t afford to go without.  For me, this small particle, the Pellet Therapy, means everything.  In my late 30’s, I started having PMS that lasted the “entire month.† I was healthy in every other way, but found I couldn’t sleep at night and started feeling as though I was freezing constantly.  I lost weight when my mom died, but during this period gained 40 pounds.  I was a wreck -- no libido, irritable, filled with anxiety, depressed, unable to sleep, and no energy.      Â
In January, 2008, I had a “complete meltdown†over a trivial thing -- the loss of all the contacts on my new phone.  For 45 minutes, I struggled to breathe and thought I was going crazy.  I hated myself, because I felt I was becoming a monster.  I sought medical help, but found no solution.       Â
In the midst of this, my husband told me about a customer of his who was receiving bio-identical hormone therapy treatment from Dr. Sharon Bent-Harley.  I immediately made an appointment, had blood work done, and learned I had almost no testosterone.  Dr. Harley’s evaluation was that I was experiencing severe PMS not peri-menopause.      Â
In May 2008, Dr. Harley inserted the pellet or “rice,†and within two weeks I felt better.  My memory improved.  I had more energy and could sleep soundly.  By June, my libido came “roaring back!†  I now had the energy to work out again and lost 30 pounds and dropped one and one-half dress sizes.      Â
Now, let me explain my husband’s commitment to purchasing the “rice.† Once finances were a “bit tightâ€, so he asked if we could wait on the pellet.  I agreed, but once the hormones were no longer being released into my body, all my symptoms returned. It was a nightmare!  It was like “Jekyl and Hydeâ€.  After a few chaotic days, my husband insisted I make an appointment, get the pellet inserted, and assured me providing me with “rice†would be a high priority the rest of our lives.  My symptoms disappeared, and I was back to the “new†me!      Â
How do I feel about Dr. Harley and her staff.  I love them!  They’re the best, and I have the utmost confidence in their care.  I was “out-of-control,†and they gave me my “quality of life†back.  I tell everybody about bio-identical hormone replacement!
